This last week went pretty well. My new companion, Elder Li, is awesome. Here’s a little about him. Elder Li is from the San Francisco Bay area. His parents are from China. He’s first generation in America. He spoke Chinese before his mission. He grew up talking both. He said his parents talk to him in Chinese and he responds in English. He has a Chinese accent. It’s different than Malaysian people’s. His Chinese is good. We haven’t talked much Chinese together partly because we’re just trying to get to know each other, but I’m hoping we’ll speak more Chinese in the future. Haha, he likes speaking English more.
He’s still getting used to the area and we’re getting used to each other, but I have faith that this transfer is going to be very successful. I’m still working on improving my faith to find. I kind of got out of my “groove” a couple weeks ago and it’s still coming back. A cool miracle occurred here in Melaka. It’s not technically my companionship’s miracle, but here’s what happened. A former investigator of theirs called me and asked if he could be baptized. Apparently, he told the elders previously that he wanted to wait until he felt ready and now he feels ready. We’ll wait to see the reasoning behind why he feels ready, but it was definitely a miracle. We haven’t been finding very many potential investigators lately, but I know we’ll do much better this transfer.
Being a district leader is going alright. I’m still getting used to it. Luckily, I can ask Elder Li if I have any questions about it. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to be district leader. I will probably go on some exchanges in a couple of weeks. I’m waiting for each elder to get used to their areas.
Right now we’re in JB for our zone meeting. I think we’re going to play sports. It should be fun.
Thank you all for reading!
