Hello Everyone!

This week went really well. Here’s what happened:
Monday – After going to the Dragon temple we played ping pong at the church. It was really fun. Later we met with one of our investigators named J. He was actually the first investigator me and Elder South found. It was a good lesson.

Tuesday – We had a great District meeting. It was the first training we received from our new District leader Elder Poppleton. Later we a had a really good lesson with our investigator named J. She’ll definitely be baptized soon. Hopefully this transfer, but if not, she’ll definitely be baptized next transfer.

Wednesday – All of our plans fell through, so it wasn’t the most productive day.
Thursday – It was Elder Jahali’s birthday. We wanted to have a surprise birthday party for him, so our District went to the church in the afternoon for a “housing meeting”. We had lunch before our “meeting” after we finished lunch, Sister Bodell brought in the cake and we all started singing happy birthday. Elder Jahali was pretty surprised. It was a lot of fun. The lunch was really good as well as the cake and ice cream. Later that day we met with the guy I talked about last week. He was the one he had attended an English class taught by Elder Broadhead. His name is J. He became an investigator and he committed to pray! He’s Buddhist and doesn’t know really anything about Christianity, which is a little weird. Most of the people here have at least known a little bit.

Friday – I probably had the weirdest lesson I’ve taught during my mission. Our investigator K has some weird theories about life. I guess he’s read a lot of books written by scientists about who God is and stuff like that. He had told us some weird things before that we didn’t understand so we brought our friend named J from the Branch to come with to the lesson. He translated and J almost started laughing at some of the stuff K said. Apparently he’s had some weird visions and a bunch of weird stuff. I don’t really know what to do with him, but we’re teaching him this coming week so we’ll see how that goes.

Saturday – We taught an interesting investigator. I can’t remember if I’ve already written about her. Her name is Mrs. B. Her Mandarin isn’t the best. She mostly only speaks Foochow (a dialect here), which me and Elder Geilman don’t speak. We brought a member named S. He helps translate. Mrs. B doesn’t have any religious background and she’s old, so she has a hard time remembering things. We pretty much had to review last lesson. She’s progressing, just really slowly.

Sunday – Our goal this transfer is to get 31 people at church every week. We had 30 or 31 people at church so that was pretty good.

Monday – Now it’s P-day and nothing too exciting has happened.
Well there’s a little overview of how my week went. I’m excited for this next coming week. I hope I will make the most of it and i hope you will as well. Try to remember Christ this Easter season. Pray, read the scriptures, and serve others. If you do these things, I know God will bless you. Thank you all for reading my update!

Sincerely,
Elder Maxwell Wimmer
