This week was the best. Here’s my update.
Monday – I finally got a haircut. I’ve needed one for a couple weeks now. My hair was getting pretty long (for a missionary). We also played ping pong at the church, which was really fun, especially playing around the world.
Tuesday – We had a great district meeting as usual. I really enjoy district meetings. After we went to meet with a referral from Elder Jahali and Davie. He lived across the river. We had to take a ferry to get there, which cost only 30 cents. It was really cool. It was my first time being on that side of the river. It took us forever to find his house. A lot of the house over there don’t have addresses and we just had to ask the other Elders who had been there before. We ended up riding for an extra hour and a half. We found some potentials on the way though, so at least it wasn’t a waste of time. Eventually we ended up waiting on the main road and waiting for him to guide us to his house. His name is K. He’s awesome. He led us to his family member’s houses. We met with a bunch of kids at one house. One house we went to was a little weird. One of the ladies living there was married to a Malay guy so we’re not sure if we can go there since we can’t teach Muslims. Our visits went fairly well and we got a bunch of potentials. We finally made it back to our side of the river at around 8. We were there for like 5 hours. We did a lot of biking. It was fun though. It was definitely a different experience. Our experience was a lot like the Malay speaking elders have.
Wednesday – Mission Tour! On Wednesday morning we flew out to Kuching for our mission tour. Elder Funk part of the seventy (I’m not sure what his calling is exactly) came. He’s awesome. He comes every year for mission tour, so I’ll see him next year. I learned a lot I can apply in my missionary work.
Thursday – Nothing really exciting happened. Sorry.
Friday – We found an awesome potential investigator. She’s the daughter of a less active. Her husband died a couple of years ago and she seems really interested in our message. We taught her about the Plan of Salvation.
Saturday – We went to the other side of the river again. Kong took us to some more of his family members and we met with him at his house. We also celebrated Elder Bodell’s birthday at his house. We sang, had snacks, and cake. It was a lot of fun.
Sunday – K went to church! He stayed for all three hours. He said he really enjoyed it.
Well there’s my update! Thanks for reading! I love you all. I challenge you all to think of a way to increase your faith in Christ. I know if you think of way and try to improve, God will bless you. OK, talk to you next week!
